Well here we go finally started my turbo build. Looking on making around 350hp/400 would be awesome. My platform is an 89 325i with 79,000 miles Florida car. Here are a few pics let me know what u guys think.

Got the valve cover and intake manifold sand blasted and painted at my job
Here's a few pics of some parts and hardware
Few pics of the VEMS engine harness
Heres a few pics of the fabbing I did...intercooler pipes and exhaust wrap
The oiling system and suspension
I'm almost done with the build here's a few pics of when I got the car and how it sits now...still have to install a clutch finish the VEMS harness and tune the thing

Very clean install. Wish i had your welding skilz. As far as the wastegate the outlet should have a flex pipe to allow for thermal expansion right? Considering how long your plumbing is, its probably going to have all kinds of internal stress.

i was thinking about running a flex pipe but i figured since the bmw engine are mounted on an angle and the stock exhaust systems dont use a flex that i might be able to get away from using one.
It could completely back fire on me and crack but im hoping by running poly engine and trans mounts i shouldn't get to much movement to crack the welds (im hoping) i guess time will determine that if it cracks than i'll put one. if i dont need one i rather not use one cause they look pretty ugly especially up top where everyone can see it
Thanks for the comments i been practing tig welding for over a yr just about everyday its hard when you first start but once you have a flow its just like everything else it just gets easier...i also fabricate at maximum psi for a living so being around it everyday also helps alot

The factory exhaust does have a flex section in one of the down tubes. Its more about expansion then flex and considering that the wastegate only has gases flowing through it breifly it won't be nearly as hot as the rest of the down pipe. So the likely hood of a crack developing are great. Especially if you use stainless. And the longer the wastegate plumbing the more likely it is to crack.

yea thats tru it makes sense i guess once it cracks if it does then ill add it in then

No flex you will be fine. I don't have a flex on my wastegate tubing, internal stress can suck it.
Then again, I made my wastegate plumbing as short as possible to minimize thermal expansion...of course at the cost of slight turbulence of exhaust stream. After the wbo2 and the egt sensor of course..
Thanks guys...here are a few vids of the car running finally she's up and going. Just a few more things left and off to the rollers. Also a few updated pics of the car.
