would you be able to send me the tune you have for your idle i can seem to get my car to idle right. I have a m20 with a t3t4 turbo 30lb injectors but im using the stock afm and im running about 40psi for fule pressure -
If you find a 3.5" MAF at a junkyard, you've hit the motherload.
IIRC, they're euro only.
The Miller MAF is more than a junkyard MAF for obvious reasons.
It's new, sized correctly, and is plug-and-play with your E30.
Junkyard, not so much.Leave a comment:

I heard that too. I just wanted to comfirm, because the price of the junkyard mafs vs the miller's it's a huge difference price wise...I'll give the t3 a shot, I have one sitting on my desk and cost me basically nothing. I'll run it on 11psi with 30lb injectors and 38mm external gate. If all this doesn't impress me in terms of performance then I'll just upgrade. It's better than my original plan of running an xs-power chinese knockoff t3/t4.
I have the 2.7" maf housing but I suspect its too small. 3.5" is what I heard is recommended for boosted cars. You can get a maf from another to work then there is no reason why the w.a.r chip couldn't work off that sensor. But in saying that not many maf sensors are able to work with our cars. You gotta find the right one. But I heard of someone on e30tech using a Volvo MafLeave a comment:

I'd bet the T3 would spool a lot faster than my T3/T4, but 15psi would be about the max I could run. This turbo should be good for around 20psi max.

Also you think If I'm running a warchip can I get a maf from another car or do I have to buy it from miller.

Yes, I am using the Turbo173 .ecu file.
My MAF is in front of the turbo. They are pull through MAF's so they need to ge before the turbo. I have a 3.5" 90 degree coupler with my MAF and a cone filter behind the headlight. Barely fits. In the future, I may route the intake through the hole left from the a/c dryer and have a filter behind the front bumper.

BrodyMotronic does not have trouble with larger than 30# injectors - you just have to know how to calibrate it properly. 42's are no problem, 55's would even be fine. We haven't had the need to set up an M20 for higher than 30's.
30# injectors will be fine for around 350 WHP, 36# injectors will be fine for 420-430 HP 42's will support 500 - 550
Would you be able to get back to me please I need a turbo tune for 30# injectors for my M20 build (war chip/ maf GenIII / smart fan).
Few e-mails sent to you and no response back :(
e-mail me please: dmedeiros1974@gmail.com
Sorry did not want to highjack thread. Thanks BrodyLeave a comment:

Miller maf sensors a draw through which means they're infront of the turbo behind the air filter. If you run it along the charge pipe towards the tb you will run the risk of breaking it when hitting boostLeave a comment:

Did you have to buy the 173 turbo .ecu "plugin" to tune your turbo setup, or are you using how it came right out of the box?
also..when you're running your maf is it infront of the turbo behind the air-filter, or is it en-route to the throttle body?Last edited by Sputnik; 06-25-2011, 04:33 PM.Leave a comment:

42# injectors are working out okay.
Haven't driven too much, but I did go out and have a little fun. haven't done any hard pulls yet.
I am running fairly rich, with my highest AFR MAYBE reading 13:1, I'd say I'm averaging around 11.5-12.
I spoke with Brody about a base tune for the 42#, so I'm hoping to try that out soon.Leave a comment:

Nice to hear from you Brody, I just purchased a second hand w.a.r and maf from MonkeyMadness (Jeremy Duncan) someone you might know. When I get deaper into my turbo build I hope to keep in touch with you via email. Im gonna be learning the software as time goes on. But I think it would be better to do a remote tuning at my local dyno shop so I can get a perfect tune by someone who knows more about this software. Does that sound ok?Leave a comment:

Brody I hope your reading this, What are the limitations of injectors sizes with the W.A.R chip?Leave a comment:

Maybe Brody will be checking the thread and will chime in. I haven't asked Miller, so who knows. I'm just going by what I've read about flash tunes on Motronic. I'm sure Miller sees the same limitations with the WAR chip.Leave a comment:
