A lot of guys out there run m50 turbos on standard internals with just an o-ring, they're pretty capable motors and 400 whp is a realistic goal, any details on the motor how the condition is or whether it has vanos and what size is it a b25? you gotta tell us more details.

first post was hard to read..but i think i got some info out of it... hx40 is big...like that comes stock on a cummins diesel i think..a gt35r would be a better choice if you dont want to wait a year for boost. dont think you would need meth injection for those numbers... i was told by a reputable tuner that a nvm50b25 with a gt35r, and misc other things will make towards of 400wheel at 11psi..

sorri about i being difficult to read i wrote it on an iphone. my mistake the turbo is acauly an hx50.... its 65k on it appears to be really good shape compression checked out just fine. it is a vanos motor apparently there is away to delete/or lock it. this isnt an argument i am sure u no more than me but i heard the thx35 are the same as gt35r but spool faster any truth to that? i wanna run meth as a safty net my buddy who is a reputible tunner swears by it then gives me the option to run a hell of alot more boost later. when o ring the block i can run stock headgaskets and metric blue studs? as far as fueling what injectors should i run i am gonna run walbro 255 fuel pump. . if any buddy has some input or suggestions that would be great that later goal is 500whp reliable but i wanna aim for 400whp on a reasonable amount of boost and learn how to drive the car with 2.5 times the power it came with

HX50 is going to spool very late in the rpm with a stock 2.5. HX35 would be a much better choice and be good for 400whp for a stock engine.

              My good friend's experience:

              m50v
              gt35 ball bearing
              MLS head gasket; lower compression
              ARP studs
3'' down pipe all the way to exhaust
              14psi RMS tuned
              305whp / 300wtq

              The DD/drive-ability is great.
It lags a bit, but it's great.

Stock S50 on 7psi with an HX35 should be in the 350rwhp range. I wouldn't run more than 9psi on a stock engine, anything more then you need to drop the compression with MLS and head studs.

Multi layer steel (mls) gasket made by cometic you can go thinner, stock or thicker. A lot of 24v turbo guys have had good success with a thicker gasket and arp head studs. These motors are very capable machines and it doesn't take much to make power, and the gearboxes they come with can handle stupid amounts of power

                              Bore: 87.5 mm. Gasket Thickness: .030"; .040"; .050"; .070"; .080". Head Stud Type: ARP 2000; ARP L19.

This all that you will need for your motor I'd opt for the .140 thick gasket for the s50 motor. On higher boost you should be looking 500whp+. Like I said the s50 is one heck of a motor it's gonna be a real animal under any sort of boost as long you can get a good tune happening this motor is built to go the distance

Also have a look at this for tuning your motor it's a bit pricey for what it is but I do rate Miller products highly and they have great customer service so whenever in doubt Brody will help you get your car running right
