M50 motors are stupid cheap. The amount of other stuff involved would be about the same cost and with a good tune you'll be putting out the same numbers...

Ha. Really? You couldn't pay me to keep one of those... A distributor and no diagnostic capabilities? Oh yeah, and that timing belt...

A '93 to '95 M50 (which would be the easiest swap to get the kind of numbers you're talking about) in good condition should need far less maintenance work then an M20 (oil and spark plugs) and I'd argue that it's not that much more complex, just more advanced. You should be able to buy one for a few hundred dollars anyway.

Had a Eaton M65 on my last car, toyota pickup diesel, used one evening to get it mounted. Had 0,3 bar boost at idle..
Do something different and do it, im planning supercharger next to the turbo in mine.
Nothing comes close to that torque.

yea im still thinking supercharger but can i get it to go thru the stock afm? if i can get it on there and make it relativly easy to go back to stock once every two years im fine with it and to me the SC seems easier than the turbo or engine swap.

the most expensive seems to be the SC itself the rest of the stuff seems pretty cheap to aquire

Yep you can, most cheap turbo builds uses stock afm and emm.
Only "problem" i can see coming is room for the belt, and where to mount the driving pulley.
Bought mine M65 on ebay.de. Theres lots of them from merc c230..

i was thinking about that too since i might just keep it a stock eta even (only rev maxed to 5k)...for the pulley im thinking of going to an electric fan and put it in front of the crank pulley

should i worry about upgrading my cooling alot i was gonna use a small intercooler for the air, i just put in a brand new radiator and im not gonna skimp on the electric fan mishimoto or something else good

No, just dont mount the superchager close to stuff that dont like heat. And use the largest intercooler you can get a hold of..

would mounting it where the power steering goes be conceivable? i need to keep AC for the :firehop:100*f temps around here in the summer.

Any place it fits is the best, when mine was close to the hood it cooked the paint off it.
But that was on 17000 rpms and youll need nothing close to it..
