Need new turbo... Recommendations please.

    I think you can easily modify a Revshift manifold to work well for split pulse from what I've seen. When you turn the boost up closer to the turbo's efficiency window does the spool get a little better?

    Personally, id rather switch the hotside or buy a different turbo that fit your manifold rather finding a manifold to fit your turbo. If you can modify your existing manifold, go for it. I would have to download the PDF for the Holset model you have, id say nothing over 70psi and you should be ok, just make sure shes got at least a -10 drain or bigger. You would know if you were blowing oil past the seals haha..

      Need to do more fixing and testing after work but I found a pretty substantial boost leak do a leftover piece of bracket on then inner fender rubbing a hole in an intercoolr pipe

        Ok fixed leak... Much better!

        Will do more toying around later. With a correct tune for this turbo I should he spooling quicker.

            Seems so.

            Def need a re tune. She's leaning out under boost and running rich off boost.

                    Seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people on here ;) ... But yeah, your most likely seeing a lot of turbo lag due to the manifold not being twin scroll.

                      He fixed the major boost lag already...it was a leak in a coupler. Twin scroll would definitely help spool up time, but not 100% necessary

                        Yep and the fact that it's not tuned correctly. Been waiting on maximum psi to get back up and running so they can tune her.

                            Max psi is busy and I don't feel like waiting.

                            Headed to "the shop" in Norwalk ct. They had originally dynoed the old build and the owner has a thing for turboed e30's

                            Scheduled for next week wed 9am...will post up the numbers when I get em.

                              Hi dont want to highjack this thread...but since a lot of the turbo gurus are in here right now!! I was wondering if you guys could recommend a Holset turbo for my twincharge project? Been looking for a while right now am leaning towards a BIG monster HX45-55... and hopefully a good deal somewhere..!

                              My apologies again for posting in here...I dont want to go to 30tech either...

                                Well good news and eh news.

                                Good news is it didnt blow up and made good power...bad news is stock fuel pump isnt up to snuf so we had to cut it short at 14 psi.

                                We made 330whp @ 14psi




                                Figure go with a Walboro 255 in tank and a 044 external?

                                Or just a 255 in tank and in line?
