i've been trying to get my 91 325i through AZ emissions testing and just barely failing heres my #'s
hydrcarbons (HC) in grams/mile 0.71 allowed 1.00 pass
carbon monoxide (CO) in grams/mile 3.73 allowed 12.00 pass
oxides of nitrogen (NOX) in grams/mile 2.67 allowed 2.50 fail
here's my mods: Dbillas itb's., shorty headers, cat back, schrick 288 cam, p&p head, splitsecond stand alone, cobra MAF conversion/k&n cone filter, supposedly it is also a 2.7 stroker motor, but i can't say 100% for sure. all this and i put out these #'s 4 tests much retuning and just barely failing the NOX (measured at cruse), so i go to check my cat and she is empty! it's the orginal too, but it was there 6 months ago! so i am going to put a pair of new cats on it and it should blow almost 0's then. just thought i'd share this though. BTW those #'s were with a half tank of 91 and a gallon of denatured alchohol. first test was almost the same #'s with all 91, but it blew a 2.71 on the NOX
