I am going to supercharge my 1988 325IS! I have purchased a complete supercharger setup form a 1993 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe.

My plan is to remove my air conditioner, relocate my alternator to the Air conditioner compressor location. Install my super charger on the left side of my engine where my alternator was. I know I will have to fabricate the brackets, change my belt pulleys and belts, but this can be done with some patience.

I am going to install my inter cooler behind either me IS front Air dam or directly behind my kidney grills. I would prefer the location behind the kidney grills!

I plan on running my stock 8.8 to compression with 8 to 10 pounds supercharger boost. Increasing my fuel pressure, running at least 21 lb injectors and an aftermarket chip. This should produce approximately 302 rear wheel horse power

I already have stainless steel headers and and custom dual exhaust with no catalytic converters

I expect this to take a little while as it will be done in stages as I drive the car daily. I have this planned out into about 8 steps over the next few months time. I will post pictures and more details as they follow!

21lb injectors will not be able to feed 302rwhp. You will need to go bigger. 30lbers are the practical maximum if you are thinking about doing a stock motronic+chip/rrfpr setup to control fuel. With standalone you can go as big as you want with injectors.

These would be like the Mustang GT or Crown Victoria 5.0 High Output injectors, correct?

I have been reading a lot and trying to plan this appropriately! Yes, i would for now like to stay with my stock motronics. In the future, I may consider the Mega squirt or another stand alone system. But, i don't fully understand them yet. I am learning this as I go!

I do have a question about the "stock motronic+chip/rrfpr" I understand the motronic+chip, but what does "rrfpr" refer to?

Rising rate fuel pressure regulator, generally people use a begi 2025. If you're going to go the mechanical fuel management unit, you should just straight up copy TCD's setup (turbochargingdynamics.com). He does 24 or 30lb injectors, his own custom FI chip, and a begi RRFPR. Not a perfect setup, but does well for low boost.

i'm planning the same thing, right now i'm saving up for megasquirt, the only thing that seems iffy about supercharging is that you have relocate the throttle.

I have tried to break this build down into manageable parts. This car is my daily driver and I do not want to be without it for a long period of time. I am planning about ten steps, making it more manageable time wise and financially.

The first step, I hope to accomplish this week is removal of the air conditioning compressor, condenser, tubing, cooling coils. Relocate the alternator to where the AC compressor was on the right lower side of the motor and add to the wiring length as necessary.

I hope water and moisture will not be problem with my alternator the low. I do not drive my BMW through much water. No fording creeks or rivers! :eeek:

This should not be done on a DD, unless you have some other form of reliable transportation. What happens if you fuck something up?

I understand what you are saying, I call this my daily driver, but it is not a typical daily driver. I am a Radio Station RF Engineer and my circumstances are a little different. I live where I work and do not have to drive to work! So when i say daily driver, it truly is not. I don't have to drive it everyday, as a matter of fact If I go to town it is only about once a week. I usually drive for pleasure, not necessity.

I also own a 1995 Hyundai Accent, that is slightly modified. But it is not my choice car to drive. I love my BMW and it is my choice car to drive!

Yes, I Did! I thought it would be interesting, it is only vinyl! It is easy to remove with no damage to the finish. The wing is actually functional, it provides a good bit of down force over eighty miles an hour.

It also gets all the little foreign car owners going, I have outrun every ricer in my area for miles! I have raced and out run both Chevy and Ford pick up trucks too! The negative side is the attention it gets from the police,also lights reflect of that chrome very well!

The only vehicle to yet give me trouble was a PT Cruiser GT Turbo, he was hard to beat. He got off the line really fast, but I got the RPMs up and passed him, but for a few seconds I wasn't sure!

What is wrong with Graphics?

I get very strange reactions to my graphics, I know everyone is not going to be into graphics! But, why such a negative reaction. Race cars have graphics, special editions have graphics, why not express yourself on your car? Wheels and other accessories are chosen to draw attention to the vehicles they are on.

I race, the graphics attract others interested in racing and provide opportunities to race. My car may not be nice enough for a car show, but I can outrun every show quality car I have been challenged by yet. These kids put their money into wheels, paint, custom interior and flat screen monitors where their back seat used to be! I am putting my money into improving my engine and suspension to make my car faster. I will eventually race in SCCA street modified, but i don't feel it is yet ready for sanctioned competition.

Sanctioned competition doesn't get you put in jail. Race cars have graphics to attract sponsor attention, and fan attention. Street racing is a really bad idea. Sanctioned events are safe, and designed to allow good competition and teach skills without getting people killed.

Plus, no body likes a ricer, except for other ricers.
