    I think I'm pretty screwed...

I think I posted this in the wrong section, so I'll post it here instead.

    Hi everyone,
So last month I bought my first car, a 1985 318i. To make a long story short, it's been off the road for over a week because of a leaking heater hose. Now when I say leaking, I mean like a fountain. I figured that this would be an easy fix--just buy a new hose and be done with it. Unfortunately, it seems like the part has been discontinued or something because I cant find it anywhere. The hoses I need are all the ones attached to the additional thermostat. If anyone has any advice, that would be great. I need to get back on the road!

Ditch the additional thermostat. They're a pain.

    Or:
go make a pest of yourself at a good, local, non- chain auto parts store.
After some sweettalking, they'll let you look at all the gnarly little hoses
that are available- you'll most likely find something close enough to work right.
If you take in the old one, often the crustier older guy will come back with something
that you'll be able to make work- often, a short section of a longer hose...

    Or:
    Call Blunt.

now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

Try looking up the part number at this site: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do . E30's are under the archive section.

Then call a local dealership with the part number or go here http://www.pelicanparts.com/. You should be able to find anything you need.

straight tube with heater hose, role the windows down in the summer, the heat wont radiate too badly. not like my MACK wich has a garden style valve to turn the flow off.

Thanks everyone, I got the hose and everything from someone on here and all I have to do now is throw it on and cross my fingers.
