    Hartge h26 Timing

    Hey everyone!

I'm reviving a H26 (M20 2.5/2.7 block and 731 Hartge Header) and it has the VGS triple Weber setup, no ecu.

It came REALLY rough and I want to put it on time and also tune the AFR, to try to test it and see other issues it might have haha

But I'm in doubt on the specs of the timing for this engine, does anyonr has any tip or specs?

Tried to search all over internet, but H26s material seems very rare.

    Best regards!

Cool car, congrats!! There ia not much adjustment you can do. Cam timing is not adjustable. Is there a lot of wear on the cam? Post some pictures of cam lobes. I'd definetely put the check the cam for wear before doing anything. What spec camshaft does iH26 have?
Here is a quick vid on the distributor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsDegs_TqoQ Video doesn't show the 3rd timing mark on the camshaft sprocket. There is a mark on the sprocket that has to be aligned with the mark on the head. Do all 3 marks line up well on your car?

        Hi all!!

        Yeah, its ignition timing :)

The car came reaaaally rough and everything is off...

We managed to go with Diggers idea, and started from the base 323 and it got waaaay better.

The issue was that the distributor had the vacuum line conected on the oposite side, so when we reved it up, it would take the timing down, instead of going uo haha

But i will check the cams as well soob enough to be sure of whats there. I suspect it should be Schriks cams, but couldnt find any reading material about h26 hardware.

        Will keep it posted :)
