Forum search and google search on this didn't come up with much...
I want to refasten the press-in nipple on my thermostat housing. The housing is in good shape and is original BMW. From the looks of it, BMW changed this connection later on to some sort of a straight nipple press in connector, mine is the older 90 degree press in style.
What's recommended here? The fit is very tight, not leaving much area for sealant. Right now I already cleaned it up and resecured it using coolant safe rtv. I really don't want to spring a leak later and have to take everything back apart again.
Since this is a pressurized and hot part of system, I feel like something more strong than sealant might be a good idea to hold up against the pressure. Everything I've read says JB Weld isn't coolant safe.
