    Removing Reference & Speed Sensors

My reference and speed sensors are damaged and need to be replaced I removed the mounting bolts and the sensors spin but will not come out. I have pulled with vise grips and they do not budge however they do spin. Does anyone have a trick I do not want to break them off.

can you tell if the whole thing is turning? the sensor body itself is two pieces. about all you can do is carefully work it with pliers and try to pry a little with a screwdriver. shoot some penetrating fluid around it and let it sit before beginning.

Yeah I cant tell if the two separated. I soaked it with PB last night and I am going to try again tonight. Do these typically slide out with a little force?

only ones i ever had to remove came out with just some pliers and a little movement. mighta tapped them once or twice with a screwdriver handle. thought i'd have to pry them with the screwdriver but they wiggled out with the pliers.

You could drill it and pick out the bits.

Drilled it out now the metal casing is stuck. Tried using a screw driver to spin it no luck. Can’t get an edge with pick or screw driver. Also tried to drill the bottom out and have broken 4 drill bits
