Getrag 260 gear set hard to shift to shift by hand- Need help

Rebuilding my g260 I’ve gotten as a far as putting everything back into the rear case and I’m trying to shift gears by hand but they feel stuck or like that don’t want to engage, I put the transmission into gear while pushing everything back together into the rear case but that didn’t do much to solve this issue-helppp

If you have the interlock pills installed, then you can only select one gear at a time.

And it does take quite a bit of force. If you attempt to shift it with the rear case off,
you should be able to tell, from what's trying to move and what isn't, where you're stuck.

I have always found the BMW way of doing shift linkage to be a real pain to reassemble.
But I never went so far as to make the proper tools for reassembly, either.
