    M20b25 turbo



    Hello,

    I’m planning to build an M20B25 turbo. I have a GT35 China turbo and a 700x300x76 intercooler. Can anyone help me with a proven setup? I want to reach around 400 HP. I’ve searched all over the internet but haven’t found anything concrete. I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has built such a setup could share information on how to properly build this engine.       What is the state of your engine currently? Miles? Making good compression?

          The compression is good; I haven’t taken the engine apart yet. I’m waiting to have a solid baseline with everything it needs to be fine for 350–400 hp. I’d like to do something budget-friendly but reliable.

              Well if budget is your goal then leave the engine be for now.

              You have more than everything you need on this forum to meet your goals.

              My suggestion would be to get your suspension and brakes done first. Car needs to be solid before you more than double the power output. Stopping is more important than going fast. So is keeping your car on the road and right side up.

              Once that is done, then get your engine management put together. Once you have engine management that you can tune for a turbo, then you can get your turbo system.

              To that end, eBay kits can pretty much get you there or spend more for a nicer kit. Better turbo manifold, better turbo, etc.

                  Brakes and suspension, plus everything related to the running gear, are done. The car has been a work in progress for 2 years already—bushings, etc., everything has been replaced, and I’ve done a conversion to 5-lug hubs.




                  With this post, I was hoping there’s someone who can tell me exactly what can be done to the engine, from the head gasket to the internals (if needed), ARP bolts, clutch, etc. What boost pressures are safe, and whether it’s possible on an M20B25 to make around 350 hp or more reliably. Maybe someone has already done exactly this type of build. Thank you!

                      maybe check out the forced induction section and read through a few of the other turbo builds in the project forum. it has been done.
