    2.7i driveability question

    Hey guys,

I'm right in the smack-dab middle of this project right now. I got the eta head off and I'm just prepin the i head and the intake manifold with the i injectors. I was just thinking this though....

I'm just putting on the i head w/o milling/shaving or anything like that. I understand that the compression will drop. My question is, how the motor will run/drive with low-compression? what should I look for? Is it going to taker longer to start? Loss of horsepower? any loss in driveability issues?

    Justin

My 2.7i runs fantastic, occasionally during the winter it will require an extra crank or two. Mine really screams once I hit about 3700rpm. It's no slouch down low either.

that car is running MS though. I would like to hear opinions on people running stock tuning.

What cam did you use? My 2.7i runs flawlessly. No extra cranks. Just some of that, wob wob wob wob ;) It has a lot of get up and go, like you said.

I'm currently running an e2i with the stock 173 ECU. Early eta pistons with an 885 head. Compression estimated at ~8.3:1. It actually starts better now than it did when in "e" form. Driveability has no real issues, perhaps a slight studder when coasting under light load. Under a heavy foot, no problems. It just loves to run. And the dyno shows an increase as well.

check your O2 sensor and TPS sensor.

Timing belt on well?? I must have rotated the motor at least 20 times to verify i had TDC. I was paranoid cuz i knew I wasn't to tear this motor down again just cuz i didn't set the timing right...

Hmmm. The O2 sensor is new but how would I go about checking the TPS and timing belt? (I'm also retarded. My bro is usually the one helping but he's no availibility. Just want to make sure I don't further blow things)
