    327i question

so i have all my parts for my swap but im using forged eta pistons for the 327i swap and i know im gonna have low compression. does anyone know if it will have more power na than the stock eta motor. Or should i mill the head or block to lower the compression to make more power.

    thank you

Last I knew that combo is said to be like 7.9:1. Not a good ratio by any means.

Unless you're planning for boost, I'd go with different pistons.

but if i mill the head or block it would lower the compression? right . so what im really trying to find out if anyone has mill or deck a block or head on a 327i for high compression.

if you mill the head and block you'll have to get a cam gear to correct the cam timing.

you could use m43b16 or m43b18 euro pistons with any 135mm conneting rods

          it gives you 9.1-9.5 CR

or you could go with thinner gasket - 0.4mm would be enough to get 9.1 CR but timing will be shifted fo 1/3 of tooth

            Damn, 9.5:1 would be sick!

If it were me, I would not mill the head, mill the block, OR run a thinner gasket. Just my semi-professional opinion.

He could always mill it enough to alter timing by 7.5 degrees...

Your CR using a 9:1 eta pistons and an 885 head accounting for the volume of a crushed head gasket gives you a CR of 8.35:1 so not as bad as you thought. On mye28 there are folks who have built this motor as yo desribe and get 130 whp and 148 ft.lb wtrq. Definately more than a stock eta. Near the bottom of this link.
