yes. i bolted the flange to a spare head i had(no cam) then i took a slip wrench and pulled that thing right out without messing up the bore.

did you remove the seal housing or are you trying to do it on the head. you should be able to get it out easily after unbolting it.

I supported the flange on two blocks and gently tapped the seal out with a hammer and screwdriver.

come on nando give me some credit, 4-5 years of engineering school teached me up goodly.

i have the housing off, the seal is in there though, I think i might have to heat it up some today when i get home, cause its not movin at all.

This should be stupidly obvious but the seal can only go out one direction.

yes...90% of the engineers I work with have zero technical ability, not saying that you don't but sometimes there is a stupidly simple reason things don't work.

If you screw it up, I have an extra housing in a box. Located in north raleigh. I was worried about breaking mine as well when I swapped it out a couple of weeks ago. Ended up using a large socket and braced the housing over 2 2x4's

you can help me with my engineering (civil) homework in exchange..lol

I use an Arbor press and two large sockets. Easy out easy in. I have seen it done with a vise but that's harder to get things lined up cus you can't stack them as easily. I have also done it the way described above but using 2 large sockets and a soft headed hammer.

                            Cheers,

                            Jim
