Super Eta AFM vs 2.5 AFM??

Is there any difference between an air flow meter for a Super Eta and a standard M20B25 AFM?

You could check the part numbers on realoem.com.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yes there is a part number difference. The difference however is the electronics to suit the motronic 1.0 found on the eta's. The 325i and eta AFM are the same other wise.

no they aren't. the eta AFM is much smaller. also, the seta uses motronic 1.1, not motronic 1.0. the motronic 1.0 AFMs also output a different shaped curve. than 1.1/1.3 AFMs

The SuperETA AFM is the same in shape and size as a normal "i" AFM. It's Motronic 1.1 since it's an 88. I sold mine to a guy with a 325i and he put it on right in front of me and we took the car for a test drive and it seemed normal.

So if I have an i head and 173 on my Super Eta motor should I get an i AFM or are they the same?

use the "i" afm, the resistance curves are different (they are the same mechanicly, tho)

Please take a look at this link. It is for a July 1988 325e. It shows compatability for the AFM with the E34 520i, 320i and late 528e's.

Having cmpared a 325i AFM and an Eta one the intake boot fits over both so the are phyically the same size. The flap size look similar but without measuring air flow on a bench I cannot comment.

Fundentally I was saying there is a difference.
