it's always going to pop up because it seems like the obvious solution. Cheap easy power right? Except that magic pixie dust that gives you lots of horsepower for no money doesn't really exist..

Putting an i head on an eta does not make it a stroker.

+1 idk why people call it a stroker. Isn't a stroker when you bump up the displacement to get power? with an i head on an eta the displacement still stays at the original 2.7. Now with a different crank, etc that is a different story.

When Mitch says run all the I parts, you think he means pistons, rods, crank, intake, exhaust, flywheel? But if that was the case, he would have a full I engine right.. the block is the same correct?

From nando's dynos, the power Mitch makes looks too high for just 885 head, b25 intake and exhaust. Then again maybe milling it has that big of an effect.

it's probably the milling.. we're talking a .2l displacement increase, but almost a full point drop in compression. The loss in compression more than makes up for any slight displacement increase.

Does anyone know what the piston-valve clearance is when using the seta pistons? I wonder what kind of power you could make with seta pistons + milling

it's probably similar to the i motor

I think it really only becomes an issue with aftermarket cams - where even a stock, unshaved head/block can lead to piston/valve contact at TDC.

plus it's not that difficult to cut the valve pockets a little deeper.
