    heater hoses question

    1988 325IX
Ok. So unfortunatly I did the heater core bypass and didnt label the hoses in the engine bay. Which hose connects to the top and which one to the bottom. If anyone has a diagram of the hose that comes off the back of the head and the rest in the engine bay so I can figure it out that would also help.
    Thanks in advance

wouldnt you just connect the two hoses together?

the hose coming off the block closest to the firewall connects to the lower heater core pipe.

I have to admit "hater hose" is pretty hilarious but lets try to keep this thread helpful. ;)

Looping the hoses is a bad idea. By design coolant can flow through the heater connections and bypass the radiator. That is to allow the heater to work even if the thermostat is closed. If you loop the hoses part of the coolant flow that should go through the radiator will short circuit through the looped hoses.

If one deletes the heater, the hoses need to be plugged.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

He probably did what i did, my core went bad and i looped it temporarily to make it stop leaking onto my carpet. Speaking of which i need to call Blunt for a new one, it's getting cold now and im gonna need heat soon lol
