I just pulled a head off a car yesterday in the wrecker since it appeared it was recently rebuilt, car had new hoses etc, Victor Rienz gaskets etc.
Well, apparently the car was overheated and the gasket let go, so there was slime/sludge oil/coolant mixture in the head.
Tonight, coated it in degreaser and pressure washed it took a closer look, and HOLY COW! the rocker arms wore a nice groove in the cam lobes. Will have to take pics and post them once the cam is out, but I guess someone either didn't know how to adjust the valves, or the coolant was running in the oil for some time.
Has anyone else come across this?
Guess it's a good thing that there's several good used cams laying on the shelf gere at the shop, eh? haha.
