The MAF conversion comes with a tuned chip that not only increases performance, but takes care of the new air metering device and how the ECU interprets it.

If you have a stock engine, or very near stock, you won't need a custom tune, the base tune provided will be just about perfect. On a bone stock engine you could see MAYBE 5 more HP if you engine is really tight and fresh.

The WAR Chip is for flexibility and if you have any plans of changing your engine to make more power in the future. Also with the WAR Chip, if you buy another BMW or do an engine swap with another OBDI BMW engine, you can use that same WAR Chip with your new ECU, simply load the proper tune on it and go.

Right now my engine is stock. I was thinking war chip because o the not power it would give me with the flexibility of being able to tune. I am under the impression that with the war chip I will be able to tune and gain more power even I my engine is stock. Is this a false pretense?

There's a slight gain to be had from a chip or tuning. But noting remarkable. The condition of the cylinder head and how much wear there is in the cylinder walls and rings is big player in what you can achieve.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

if you get the MAF conversion then you will gain next to nothing on a stock engine by using the WAR unless you can tune better than the guys at Miller...lol

Like Brody said you pull about 5hp due to the tune in the chip and the increase of flow of the maf over the afm..
But the major benifit is that you can tune later down the road when your tired of stock.. (In The Near Future)
            Cold air kit, tune that...;)
            Umm headers tune it...:D
Turbo, SuperCharger, FTW tune for that...
Pink Fuzzy Dice Hanging from the Mirror, No tune for that but we can pretend...:giggle:

Other than an engine swap the war chip "Will" be the best thing you'll
do for your car.. Other than a turbo or S/C but then you'll need a war chip for that...

            Best money I've spent...

Alright thanks guys. I only have a cold air intake right now so I think I'm going to go reg chip right now and then get the war chip later when I mod my engine. Comments and input
              is much appreciated!
