LOL, that compression ratio hardly warrants the need for 94 octane, please
LOL? Please. I've built more than a few of these, I know a thing or two. I've built a couple of 10.25 strokers and ran them on 91. They go through head gaskets and eventually eat the rings up in no time. Same thing on 9.7:1, only it buys you a little more time.

The only way you could possibly do 10.25 on a lower octane was if you went stand alone and tuned your spark timing way down to compensate as many have done on Unichips and whatnot.

What would be the best way to get a crank? Do they sell it seperate?

I'd have a hard time finding a s50 crank down here, and even then I don't have any shops to modify it for me.

wow, looks like nobody read my Thread about my conversion with fully pics...well it's the problem of each person who doesn't care about reading the whole thread...it's theri problem

......................and NO , again, you don't have to modify a crap in the s50 crank other than fab a sleave for the seal in the cover timing.

We get 93octane fuel in NC. Never had a problem with our 10-10.2:1 M20's.... :?

My 10.2:1 2.8L is running º8 timing retard through half the RPM range. 93 octane is barely acceptable, still pings.

Can't wait to put the new head on and fix this shit.

Nothing is really wrong with my head, I'm just building a new one.

Ported intake, heavily ported & polished exhuast, reshaped, softened, faster burn combustion chambers.

Any 3.0/3.1 kit for an M20 is going to use an E36 M3 crank (85.8 stroke or 89.6)

So is the general concensus here that the ie kit isn't worth the cash? At 2.5k could you get a good shop to help you with the parts?

Where is the MAF I have seen that uses what looks to be the AFM plug sold? Is it sold through unichip as all the people I have seen with it have unichip piggybacks? Thanks.
