    tinkerputzer, the part numbers I found for the 1999 Mercury Cougar injector are the following:

    MOTORCRAFT# CM4885
    FORD# XS2Z-9F593-AA
    ENG# XS2E-9G593-A5C
    BOSCH# 0-280-156-041

    They should mount right in to the manifold and rail the same way, but I just noticed that the electrical connector is different. These have what I believe is referred to as the EV6 style connector.

    I don't think it would be hard to snag a set of connectors and solder them onto your harness though.

    are the 17lb injectors plug and play? or do i need an entire conversion kit and stuff?

    No and no. I think if you tried them though you wouldn't complain. They match the engine quite well. I have been running them for almost a year with no issues.

    well i thinking of going to 17# because im going to do a maf conversion. and i also heard running track on 14.5# injectors isnt that great because your running them at their max almost the entire time.

    Unless you've done something to significantly increase the mass flow through the engine, larger injectors aren't needed for an M20B25. If the fuel system is working correctly and the injectors are clean and flow at their design rate the engine can be tuned for a A/F ratio of 12.8:1, which is as rich as you'd want to go.

    do whatever you can afford. but make sure you take care of maintenance before go spending $600 on a maf+chip conversion.

    when was the last time your timing belt was done?
    recently. as well as all my hoses etc. this wont be for a while, i am just doinf some research before i spend the money.
