I've done it. i +2mm exhaust valves fit into the stock seat. You can only get +1mm on the intake seat though.

My machinist took the i valves, standard valve job price on the exhausts, charged me an extra $50 to grind the intakes down by 1mm to fit them in the seats. He had to hog out a little more in the stock seats but didn't charge me any extra from the standard valve job price. Did it help? I have no idea.

Do you even know what a reamer does? You use it to take imperfections out of valves guides, lifter bosses, etc. You would have to have the valve seats cut.

I have put both intake and exhaust valves for an 885 head straight into the standard seats of a 731 head no problems, obviously we had to bore out the seat to take the +2mm valves but there was still plenty of meat left, with some mild porting it works well for road application, even with my race head we did this but went to much more effort in the porting and flow bench development

i have a head i pulled off an e30 years ago. never did anything with it. probably needs machining by now. had original headbolts when pulled. $200+shipping.

i'll ship it to australia if you pay for it. shipping might run you $100 or $200. but that is a lot less than $1k.
