How do you tell if an m20 is l-jet or motronic?

Just started rewirng the junk yard m20 that's going in my car and I think it might be l-jet b.c the fuel rail looks different than the one on my 88. How exactly can I tell? Also how can i convert it to motronic?

    Thanks,
    -Brent

only early euro cars have L-jet, like the early 323i.

what kind of M20 is it? if it's an eta or a B25, it's not L-jet.

It's a b25 so why does the rail look different?

how different does it look? I think early fuel rails have the inlet and return on opposite ends, while the later rails have the inlet and return on the same end (by the FPR).

there was never a B25 that ran on L-jet though.

Haha na it's not even close to that different the wires coming off the injectors just look like they are bundled differently or something I just haven't seen it before so I wasnt sure what was up.

There are two fuel injector configurations that were used on M20B25 engines. The early configuration (from 9/86 through 8/87) has the fuel supply connection at the rear of the rail and the injector connectors are separate and a part of the engine harness. The late configuration has the fuel supply connection next to the FPR, the injector connectors are within a plastic chase, and the cable from the chase connects to the engine harness via C191.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Motronic has dizzie on the camshaft. L-Jet has dizzie on the side of the block.
