just a marketting gimmik, if you are using good fuel, and the engine is running well and do regular maintenance and oil change, no need for an additive or cleaner,

I use it every oil change. I think it works. No way to tell for sure. But I think it's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of sea foam. But for less than $150, you can buy a set of used M50 injectors, have them professionally cleaned and rebuilt and swap them out for your stocks (M50 injectors have an improved design that atomizes fuel better). Much better results than any injector cleaner could ever hope to deliver.

what does it mean "atomizes fuel better"?

Definition: In terms of automotive liquid fuels, atomization occurs by forcing fuel through a small jet (opening) under high pressure to break it into a fine misted spray.

              Pronunciation:
              āt'ə-mīz zā'shən

              Examples:

Diesel fuel is atomized in an engine's combustion chamber when it is forced through the fuel injector nozzle.
REMEMBER: Be safe and have fun is Rule Number 1.

it is my understanding that injectors are usually matched to intake valve design, just FYI.

I like running seafoam, but I think that most injector cleaning isn't going to help too much, if at all. Remember that the injectors have a filter in them too, you can't clean those by forcing particles through it, they have to be back washed. I prefer to put seafoam through the intake than in the gas tank.
