    M20 head job

I just blew my head gasket and i was looking at having a spare head done up nice. It's and m20b25 and i want to have it port and polished and maybe a 3 angle valve job done. To get to the point, if i do get a valve job does anyone know if it is possible to do a 4 or 5 angle on those and what to do for a valve train, do they make over sized valves for those? As well as anything else I would need, maybe a website or two.
    thanks

If you're running a stock 2.5 just a regular port and polish is all you need and should bother with. Oversized valves, upgraded rockers, and valve springs are just going to cost you money you don't need to spend.

That's a good tip thanks! I have a thought in the back of my head of maybe boosting it, only like 8lb's would you think I would still be okay with low boost like that?

let's be honest. you're not going to turbocharge it.

If you want to do a head up right for maximum performance you want to do what Jim at Metric Mechanic does. There is a write up on the MM site about what they do to wring the last little bit out of an M20 head.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Maybe, but I understand what he is saying. For instance, I talk a lot about boosting my hooptie but I doubt I'll do it within a couple years.

save your money and freshen up the valve seats, change the guides if these is play and put fresh valve seals in. and deck the head. for less then a couple hundred you have a fresh head as long as the rockers and cam are not worn excessively. throw it in and your car will come alive in comparison to what it feels like after 200k. All the noise about doing what you want is a waste of money at this point and won't serve you one bit unless you do what was mentioned above. you're into a grand to do a head up properly. you'll only see marginal difference unless you do other things to to the car to compliment this modification.
