Mine went last year and those are the exact symptoms
yup thats what happens to my car man! im going to get a new fan and see if that fix the problem...

I put on a euro valance and lip and noticed my temp rose more dramatically. After tearing my hair out I realised that neither one of them have cooling vents cut out. Between that and my bad fan relay, it could get pretty hot in warm traffic. A direct wired fan switch is good stuff. I leave it on for city driving and the needle stands bang in the middle. I'm going to keep the same setup with my S50 swap.

You should also check to see if your auxiliary fan is working. If the clutch fan is good it could be the aux fan is not switching on. If ur aux fan isn't turning on then it could be a blown fuse or ur temp switch.

OMG everyone forgets about the number 1 reason this happens, THERE IS AIR IN YOUR SYSTEM. Bleed the mother phucker. I had the same problem, get all the air out of the cooling system first then look at the other culprits. I would try the rolled up news paper trick though just to be safe.

Air in the system will generally make it run hotter not only while stopped, but also while moving.

I might go to a JY soon to look for a fan clutch, how hard is it to take that shit out? what tools are required?

grab the lower rad hose. If its cool you have air in there. It happened to me yesterday after I did my timing belt. Grab the hose and squeeze it to get the air moving while you bleed it. It takes several tries to get it all out.
