Stubborn valve cover leak

    I used a thin coat of rvt and its works out fine. I guess this is a matter of preference. I pulled the gomets out with a pair of pliars and used a small rubber mallot to put the new ones in.

      You guys are the bomb - going to tackle it this weekend or next.

      As an aside, I checked the oil on the dipstick yesterday and it was damn near the top line on the stick - I haven't topped it since changing the oil 6+ months ago... which tells me very little burning oil and no major leaks.

      I'm impressed with my 262k engine... taking her out for an SCCA auto cross in Oakland this sunday... going to get raped as I'll be running in DSP because of my coilovers. Street tires though, d'oh.

            I don't recommend rtv for those rubber plugs. They eventually shift and shrink over time. Use something than can continually conform with the rubber / gasket surface like Curil K2.
