The fan blade cut through the hose and I got to piss coolant all over the Kroger parking lot. now its patched with zip ties and gorilla tape. Its also ziptied back from the fan.

The hose is attached to the motor on both ends as is the water pump and fan. They should all move together. If the fan blades caused that ( I'm guessing that's the case ) for some reason your fan is moving eccentricly or is lose.
^^ Yea, basically if a mount failed, the fan would hit your radiator first.
Your car would be vibrating too from the slight misaligned drive-shaft most likely as well if that was the case.
thats a good point. i hadnt thought about everything being connected. So even if the motor mounts were bad, everything would shift together. i guess that guy was wrong.
maybe my hose wasnt back far enough or was tool long on that part?

There's a factory plastic clamp that holds that hose to the front engine lift bracket. If that was missing it could let the hose go forward and hit the fan. Pretty common problem and nobody seems to know about the factory clip.
That's possible, the hose has a prefitted shape and goes from the top there over the head behind the cover for the distributor and then down to the water pump. Maybe it's not connected to the correct port at the top? Should be the middle of the three ports. Or maybe someone put the wrong hose on the wrong spot after having removed them.
nah, i know its on right in the right spot cuz i did it, i just didnt know about the clamp that keeps it in place. I guess thats why the PO had cut part of the end off of the hose the car came with...

both of my motor mounts broke and i didnt even know it. i was driving the car for a while and the only problem i had was every time i hit the brakes the fan hit the radiator and made a loud ass noise. but i dont think the fan will hit the belt...
