Shrick 288 Cam. yay or nay?

Hey guys, i know this topic is on here but just want some more opinions. Just wondering if this upgrade is really worth it. Right now i have:
    -stock m20
    -19lb injectors
-Longtube headers, no cat, straight pipe to Magnaflow 14815
    -Chip
    -Miller MAF

So i'm not sure which cam would be best, i know the 288 will require upgraded valve springs which will add another 300 bucks. And for the most part, the car is my daily, haven't tracked her yet but if i do it won't be very often.
    Any input is apreeshed.

Got all da Alpine bitches mad cuz my main bitch Calypso.

also need to check valve/piston clearance and probably grind out the reliefs a bit.

Will not be worth it on an otherwise stock motor.

I say do it, valve cut outs require a little grinding but apart from that everything else is fine. Don't bother with valve springs, they're a waste of money. The standard springs work just fine and you won't be revving past 7k. My Alpina has a 293 cam with standard springs and revs to 7200 and it loves it! the engine has been going for 10 years now since re-build and i've never had a valve spring problem.

you are better off doing a 2.7i swap or better yet, an m52 crank, eta rods and i pistons along with your 885 head as a better return for your money invested with a true budget stroker and resulting in a 2.8 lt motor.

if you need to grind the valve relief pockets to run the cam, you are part of the way there to doing a rebuild anyway.

you can also run a big cam later and at that point, you will have more motor to make use of the big cam.

stock springs and good rockers will work just fine with that cam.
it is not a cam tracking issue as much as a valve float issues when exceeding 7400 rpm.
the ramps are not super fast on the schrick cams, necessitating the stiffer springs.

Definitely too big of a cam.

not enough Engine, CR or intake manifold to make it worthwhile
