My car has been sometimes doing the same, as well as bucking and then dying (followed by smell of fuel). Try to start, but will die. Eventually, it will start and run.

So could this be my problem as well? I'm about to check the fuel pressure and go from there. Aslo will be replacing the plugs and wires today too. Anything I should look for? Like that guy, his plugs smelled like fuel. Sorry, but I'm still a noob at diagnosing.

I was the guy who had to replace the ECU in my 84 eta. I had replaced everything else, I mean everything. And had done a continuity check on all wire leading to the ECU. And checked the TPS switch. The ECU was the only thing I hadn't checked or changed out.

OP, when you're driving along. Do you notice when the trouble starts if the Econometer below the Tach sweeps suddenly to the 0, and black smoke is emitted? When I was trying to troubleshoot my problem the car would sometimes idle for an hour solid with no problem, then other times it would idle for a minute, then go super rich. I'd be driving along fine, then suddenly it would go super rich and flood the motor.

If you've changed and checked everything else, I'd see if I could locate another known working ECU to borrow.
