    IE's 304 Race Cam... opinions

So i plan on rebuilding my 885 head here in the next few weeks.
I plan to use all IE parts (ss valves, springs, etc.)
my question is, would their 304 race cam be a good investment??

what are specs of the said engine? and what will it be used for?

this guy now uses IE304 cam

    dyno shown here

unless you get a high compression bottom end, a standalone computer, suitable shorter and larger bore runner intake manifold you won't be anywhere near the capabilities of the cam

This is one of those things where if you have to ask, the answer is no.

A shrick 284/272 would probably be a good choice.

          DINGDINGDING!!

I have a Schrick 304 waiting to go in to my head.. just a heads up dont get the springs that come with the cam.. like how Turner sells the kit. They do not sell retainers that fit those springs, and even Schrick says they never did, which is fucking dumb imo.

Fitting this cam in my i head has been a nightmare and hopefully after speaking with VAC it'll all be settled soon!

I'm in agreement with everybody else that the 304 might not the best choice. You have a PM.

Will a 304 even idle for DD use?

pointless modification with out high rpm (built engine) support to use it.

get a street cam for a street car and street engine (stock engine).

this will be EASY to fit, and Reliable (more) and make usable power.

regarding NA (naturally aspirated) engine setup

higher the cam number, the higher cylinder compression and rpm point is needed to utilize the power.

i.e. radical cams for a naturally aspirated 1600/1800cc killer v-tec (delete) honda B series by toda make power shift from 6500-8000 range all the way up to 8,500-11,000 range. goes from stock 185/200 ps to 240/260++ ps or so, crazy compression increase to suit also (10.5->12.5 or ++)

cam allows the huff and puff device to shove MOR (lift) air in longer (duration); but the huff and puff device (engine) must be up to the task :)

                      at ~1000rpm, sure.

but you probably need $3000+ in supporting headwork to make any use of it, and definitely not good on a stock bottom end.
