    Stroker question

What is the difference between an m20b25 late an a early one... I f the car is early is better to use the early b25 to do the 2.7i?...This question is make because I have an seta but my friend have a 86 eta. He are in business to get a 87 i for donnor parts, which of the cars is the best to do the stroker mod and what it would need. Also is it better to just install the m20b25 as a whole. Thanks in advance.

get a 885 head and put it on the seta bottom end. That would make a pretty could build from what i've heard. do some research though to make sure everything will fit correctly. I'm not sure but you may want to check if you need to cut reliefs into the pistons for the valves.

hope this helps to get you in the right direction

An SETA engine is the better choice over an ETA to do a budget stroker. But neither will match the performace of an M20B25 transplant.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

idk about that, my 2.7 can take an m20b25 and it's not even tuned

84-85 have a square C101 plug and 86+ have a round c101 plug, 88+ injector harnesses are separate from the engine harness itself. only important differences

All M20B25 engines from 9/86 are essentially the same (except for the ix variants), but two different wiring harnesses were used. One from 9/86-8/87) and the other from 9/87. Which harness to used depends on what car you have and ETA car wants the early harness, but a SuperETA woud want the late harness.

I have stacks of dyno sheets for 2.7i "strokers". I'd rather have an M20B25 with a cam.

While one can make a stroker that will outperform an M20B25, you won't achieve that by simply grafting an I head, etc., on to an ETA or SuperETA bottom end. The compression ratio suffers too much. Building a bottom end using using a 525d crank, different rods and high compression pistons is how you get there. And you need to mod the head to get more flow from it. A good example is one of the Metric Mechanic engines.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
