You will be good with a new set of stock dual springs.

yeah, no need for super stiff springs with that cam. when you get to the schrick 288 then you need to get serious about it. definitely new stock ones at the minimum though (don't try to use 250,000 mile springs from a JY engine).

You'll be fine with good stock springs, no need to buy new.

I know, my post contradicts nando. What else is new? :)

Thanks for posting this, I starting to plan a cam upgrade myself and was wondering this same question.
Have you done one before? Is it terribly difficult?
I love that people ask stupid questions so I dont have.

haha. im wondering the same. some ppl say just turbo the motor, who cares. but i think this is important. especially on a car with 200,000+ miles!
definitely the double springs tho huh? when u do that new seals also im guessing.
wheres a good place to get these at a reasonable price without loosing quality?

              good thread
m20 is plenty. im simply a drifter.

on a side note jules, did u replace any of your bearings in the motor. how important would something like this be for the motor running more aggressive or at a higher RPM?

anyway, if ur doing your cam shouldnt u get the old rocker arms outta there. fresh cam with rockers and valve springs. thats the best way to do it
