This has been my dilemma lately. I sometimes feel the same thing as I'm hitting he rev limiter on 1st.

Great info.. I'll be getting a set off an M20 in the junk yards to service.
I would put money that the 4-5k misfire you're feeling is not related to injectors. At that rpm the spray pattern is very much less important than at idle or low rpms. I'd start by checking your plugs, wires, rotor and cap to ensure you're getting strong spark, then move on to the unending list of things to check associated with misfires (search). With that said... for $20 and about an hour of labor, it couldn't hurt to check your injectors as well.

"Important Note: There are two types of fin caps depending on the injector. If you have an injector with a single pintle pin use the cap with the 1.5 discharge hole. If you have an injector with 4 small discharge holes use the cap with the 3mm discharge hole. Make a note at check out in the notes to seller box indicating 1.5 caps or 3.0 caps. If there is no note you will receive the 1.5 caps by default."

so i need to take mine out and look at em first? GatoEnFuego, did u measure it first?

dude, just buy a set of rebuilt m50 injectors. then go to autozone and buy injector o-rings for a 1995 325i. and if they dont have them in stock, get them for 1992 ford mustang 5.0. you're going to need 12.

        it's that simple.

I received both caps. I used the bigger ones even though I have a 1 discharge injector, as you can see from the pictures the design is slightly different.

ive done this on a few cars. sprayed with brake cleaner, then air hose. fun and good maintencance.

lil tip when pulling off fuel rail, open the gas gap and that takes pressure off, less fuel spilling out

I thought the ecu would adjust accordingly.

Econometer is based off of the stock 14# injector pulse. ECU uses shorter pulse for the 17# injectors. Econometer thinks you're using much less fuel.

The only reason I haven't swapped M50 injectors in is because of that. I like everything in my car working as stock would.

For anyone who wants to take a shot at budget injector rebuilding. I wrote up this DIY for bosch design III injectors a couple years ago on e30tech, however the procedure for the other design will be nearly identical.

I've got some m50 injectors fs if anyone wants to try em out :) I've sold probably 20 sets of them and people always have beneficial results in m20 cars.
