So I'm replacing my pump and the one I pulled from my 325is is a VDO setup. The replacement pump I got is a Bosch and is ONLY the pump so now I'm stuck because they aren't the same i guess? Can I make it work edit: with the VDO housing/mount?

Is the replacement a OE equivalent pump assembly. If so it doesn't matter whether it is VDO or Bosch.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The difference. They're oriented the way they fit in the mount, respectively.

The replacement did not come with the assembly. just what is shown on the left. I'm asking if I can get it to work in my VDO assembly.Comment

Main problem I'm having is the bottoms shown here, again BOSCH left VDO right with the VDO housing on the far left. The little cresent shaped nub on the bosch doesn't allow it to fit properly but I just realized that it is ONLY a nub and not an actual line for something so I guess Ill just grind it off?
Then there's the issue of the sock being for the larger VDO opening but that should be simple enough to adapt.Last edited by JayDee916; 11-28-2011, 04:36 PM.Comment
