I have a 1985 325e and its happens about once a month the car will be running fine then I'll go to start it and it turns over fine but won't fire. Yes it has gas. Any ideas on where I should start to trouble shoot.

im thinking you dont have fuel... key on engine off and see if you can hear the fuel pump prime.
yank a fuel line and see if you in fact have fuel.
if you do then go from their. id check injector pulse next.Comment

Hmm You still need to see if the fuel pump is getting good power. Also, relays can be going bad as well. No CEL?Yours truly,
