I still want to know how you were able to drop a pencil in one of those holes... It had to have been a perfect throw to get it to actually fall in.

i was board waiting for fedex to arive with my head gasket so i started poking around,
basicaly broke the golden rule and didnt use protection when sticking my pencile into dark holes
but that aside can i just take the crank gear off and take that cover off that sits at the front of the engine behind the largest gear instead of the oil pan

Maybe try taking the drain plug out and keep pouring oil down through the block. Then hope the pencil lines up and flows out with the oil (or atleast finds its way to the drain plug hole were you can try and move it). My 2 cents(i have 0 experience with ix's so i dont know were the drain plug is or if its possible), i think its worth trying...
