i used one did not notice any improvement whatsoever. If you are running decent boost it might do something

Don't waste your money. Been there, done that 6 years ago.

I have a Crane HI-6 ignition amplifier. My engine is basically stock, old, and tired. I wasn't expecting to see any additional power from it, mainly just trying to get quicker more consistent starting and a overall smoother running, which I did experience. I also replaced my wires with NGK cables. One tip there is to look for a set for a 525i on ebay as I picked them up for around $45 brand new. The only real difference is that the coil wire is a little longer than a 325i set.

I also opened up the plug gap to .040" when put the HI-6 in.

Sounds like a waste of money.

From MSD... "Above 3,000 rpm there is simply not enough "time" to fire the spark..." this essentially makes these useless above 3000 RPM

I'd say that's when M20's benefit most from the multiple spark thing anyways. The batch fire injection doesn't exactly deliver optimized fuel timing for each cylinder and is more pronounced at lower rpms. And if you open the gap then even above 3,000 you're getting a larger spark. I'm not sure how much this might help, but I like to tell myself it gives more unobstructed room for flame kernel propogation or some such BS.

you'd be better off spending money on something like MS3 and doing COP/sequential fuel.

not enough time to fire the spark.. hah!
