    maximum shave for a 2.7 head.

    i'm getting my 2.7 cylinder head decked pretty soon, and i was wondering whats the maximum amount of shave you can do to one?

    Not worth the gain. But if you're hell bent on doing it, better get an adjustable cam gear.

      eh fuck that ill just do a basic shave then.
      god damn eta engines hahaha, i will so be building a 2.5/2.7 after this.

        The power is made in the head with flow. Just work towards improving that. A good valve job will yeild more than shaving it. And with out all the headaches such as cam gear, and piston to valve clearance.

          I don't get it. You want more power and your head is already off yet you refuse to do the i head swap.

              im too broke :(
              i wanna just throw the thing together so i don't have to be worried that my e21 will break down.
              ill literally barely be able to afford the head being resurfaced, new valve seals, maybe new springs.
              all with the money from selling my w123 240d.
              so throwing it all together slow is fine by me, and then ill pick up parts for a 2.5 head swap in the future and get it all ready to go outside of the e30 on an engine stand and just plop it in :)
              i need a job haha.

                you could be a day laborer for a day or two and make enough money for an entire i engine.
