I'm headed out to a euro salvage yard to see what i can come up with...anyother types of motor i could possibly look out for?
Doing an M50 swap is seriously not worth the cost and time. The people that say it is are just fooling themselves. You should either do the i head swap, swap in a complete i engine, or go straight for the S50/S52 engine swap.

The head swap makes better power than R3V says it does. If you've got a nice head with porting and a cam (like the ones I sell) you WILL make enough power to be happy. An important part of doing this conversion is swapping the diff for a 3.73 so it acts more like an i car.

There is absolutely no way that a 24v swap will be cheaper than a head swap on the M20.

from what I've seen it'd be cheaper to make the target hp than doing a stroker, and then moding it even more to be equivocal to an m50.

My replies on this forum are based on real life though, not things I have read online. ;)

of course! I'm only speculating. And from reading other people's costs that have been reasonable.

Then, would it actually be cheaper to do a stroker build and mod it to make equal power to the m50?

I'm actually in love with your heads and decided if I do this swap i want it done the best I can then realized I'm still in college and I'd be a dumbass to spend money on a new head etc. when my car runs fine. I think I'm just going to slowly collect the pieces I need and do it after I finish school.

The most sensible decision I've seen in a long time.

MR 325 is absolutely correct on this. I also have a 325e and did a head swap. I swapped the head with a 731 casting head (which is direct match to e bottom) 3.73 LSD and with of modifications here and there, couldn't be more happier with my car.

So I'll say do a head swap or other wise go straight for a S5X...M50 swap is not less expensive than a head swap.
