    Coolant leak need help

So i initially thought ir was thw coolant hoses so i replaced those bit when i filled the system i found the leak somewhere else.

I see that its coming from the water pump specifically where the pump meets the pulley.

Whats causing the leak? I couldnt feel any cracks but when the engine is run it leaks like a water water raging river!!

Do i need to replace the pump? The pulley? Or jist tighten the pump?

Im assuming since it gushes out when the engine runs the pump is working

    Any help would be awesome

I dont know but it has quite a bunch of miles on it.

My dilemma is I need to smog it asap and register it by Friday. I wanna know if tightening it would be a good temporary solution until i can pass my smog.

If it is leaking from the water pump shaft, it needs to be replaced.

As stated, do the timing belt too. If it is leaking that bad I bet you the t-belt has been contaminated.

                If you want...

The T-belt is the most important because if that breaks you won't have an engine anymore.

                the other accessory belts, meh.

If they break, the worst is you lose the waterpump/ alternator, the choice is up to you to replace the accessory belts.

waterpump and alternator belt is the same.

get a new tensioner spring and pin if you're paranoid like me.
