89is wont start $50 to the person who figures it out
I've had a pump on another type of car work fine while idling but under load it would crap out. If it was my car and I had already tried what u had tried I'd be swapping the pump. I'd also swap the fuel pump relay which may be dumping under load? I've had them work intermediately by tapping on it.
as far as the expect thing, the car still isn't running is it?
I would check the cap and rotor again. I had the same symptoms as you. Turned out it was a worn cap. Gave a spark but wasn't grunty enough in the cylinder chamber to fire. Look for pitted electrodes and also moisture/dampness in the cap can cause problems too.
If the car was running fine before you did the timing belt and intake gasket then you should go back and verify your cam timing. Also do a compression test.

I'll see if i can find a known good working one. Getting sick of buying new parts that do nothing for me haha!

It was running before and after. The main issue started before the timing belt was ever touched though.
I checked everything I could think of, TPS switch, air flow meter, wiring and connectors, cold start sensor, knock sensor, spark plugs, even removed the injectors and had them tested. I was getting spark, fuel, and air, so this was adding to my frustration. As a final resort before I set it on fire, I decided to check to the cap, soon as I saw it, yip there's my problem. A new cap and rotor and it started first time.
