325e motor mount Replacement

So I have 3 out of 4 of the nuts off for replacing my motor mounts. The one giving me problems is the top passenger's side. Anyone have any tips to getting to that nut? I would rather not drop the subframe.

The charcoal canister may be in the way, it's easy to move.

I'd recommend a 1/2" ratchet with a long extension to get the motor mount nut.

Passenger side...its the exhaust manifold. Unbolt the heat shield on the mount and as mr325 suggested use a long extension (IIRC with a u-joint). A crowfoot might work as well if you have one.

damn, I tried just bending it back to the manifold. I really didn't want to have to take the shield off. Thanks.

I'm talking about the aluminum shield that sits right on the mount to protect it from the exhaust...it's about 3x3..NOT the ones under your spark plugs.

It may be different on your "e" but on my Cabrio there are 2 small bolts facing the rear that free up the heat shield. One is obvious and the other is hidden under the manifold and is easily reachable...as long as your hands arent meathooks

yes, I bent the heat shield for the mount.
