normal oil pressure for 88 ix

Hi: Just put an oil pressure gauge in the ix and it is reading 82 lbs when the car is cold. The engine is rebuilt; with about 15k miles on it. Is that normal pressure?
    thanks for any help,

Oil pressure is dependent on throttle position. At idle 5-10 psi seems normal. But even at full throttle, 82psi seems a bit high.

this question is not ix specific.. but that seems a bit high. I'll move it to the M20 section, maybe jlevie will have some ideas. maybe your bearing clearance is a bit tight.

          thanks for the input

Seems my oil pressure is within normal. The 80psi was with the engine sitting over night outside about 30 degrees. Yesterday, when warmed up it is 27 idle and 39 driving down the road....I think that is normal for a rebuilt engine???? based on what I see in the posts.
          thanks for the input,
