Performance valve springs

Whose set is best? What are the options? I know of VAC, Metric Mechanic, and Schrick. Are there others? Also wondering if there's anywhere the Schrick springs can be bought besides Turner.

What cam will you be running? A fresh set of stock springs will work for most street cams or a set of MM beehive work well with mild cams.

Probably something in the 288 range but if I am replacing springs I figure I may as well upgrade too...

I believe I've heard before that someone uses Honda B series dual valve springs. I'll try and see where I got that from.

Yeah please try and find out if that's true 'cause that valvetrain is cheeeaaap

unlikely to find them significantly cheaper than turner unless lucky enough to find a private sale

VAC is the best choice in my opinion. They have a lot of experience with these cars and are amazing.

I would be very picky on dual valve springs. Ask for specs on the VAC springs to compare them to MM and/or Schrick. I'd be personally inclined to go with either MM or Schrick over VAC (but obviously specs are needed).

A spring manufacture typically will want an order of at least 5k-10k springs before it becomes somewhat cost effective to the supplier. The likely-hood that VAC would have made that kind of investment on the lowly M20 is doubtful in the extreme, which would mean their springs are sourced from another vehicle.

ive used the VAC ones for the past 4 years or so after coming from MM ones. they have higher open and closed forces but they work really well and are made by Eibach
