    Valve adjustment gone wrong?

Hey guys im working with a 1987 325i and i just adjusted the valves to spec (.010in) and they sound SO MUCH louder than before. I double and triple checked before putting the cover back on. I did notice that while it was quieter before some valves were a lot tighter than .010in I dont have any daylight left plus i ran the engine for a bit so im going to do it all again tommorow. Should I adjust to .09? or is something much worse going on?

A healthy m20 should sound like a sewing machine.

I use 15-50 Mobil1 in all our jobs, or Castrol 20-50 with a quart of zddp additive in all climates for an m20. Only way the rockers won't eat your cam.

Thanks for that, im going to re-adjust them tommrow to .010in and double, triple, and quadruple check them. Then 20-50 sounds good to me

20-50 in hot weather for sure. In my experience I can hear my valves but I can hear my injectors clicking just as much if not more but I also took all the sound shield off the firewall.
