i agree i would rather the later 173 or 380 ect. i was hoping to just get this running this weekend with what i had on hand though. at this point however i just heard from blunttech that my order just got shipped today because the supplier was backordered and never informed them so i wont have the headgasket and bolts untill monday anyway so ill take the weekend to address the other stuff and have all my ducks in a row for next weekend.

on a side note, i have confirmed the 2.7i will run off the stock 154 seta ecu. my buddys 2.7i E21 is running a 154 at the moment, the 6250 rpm limit is not great for his car as he has a shrick cam, port and polish head, intake, bored throttle body, headers, cone filter, m30 maf ect. but it does work and it still hauls well enough to walk away from a e36 m3 so i feel it would be fine to use in a pinch but i agree the later ECU's run much better even on a stock m20b25.

of course it will run - it's the same DME, with slightly different fuel, ignition, and a different redline.

your friend shouldn't be running a schrick with a stock B25 chip though, much less one for a SETA...

he fried his 173 because his e21 glove box likes to fill with water if left out in the rain. and hes looking at MS now because he plans on running nitrous this summer. hopefully properly tuned he can get 250 wheel hp out of it (on spray of course like 180-200hp without i see as being doable)

as for me im gonna fix my go fast itch for the week ahead by putting a 4.10 in my seta for now lol.

You and your friend must love running engines way too lean. Enjoy.

I will be running a 3bar fpr with m50 injectors so I won't be running lean, but yes the e21 needs properly tuned this season as it will soon become a hill climb car.
