    10:1 pistons and how much over bore on the valves?

            That sure is nice, I'm in the process of having something similar with boost... but I'm having second thoughts on the boost part. Any how good luck with your build.

                  Are those pistons similar to stock crown I can't really tell? to replicate the squish and retain the good fast burn characteristics of the 885 head?
                  89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

                      Haha, everytime I see forged M20 pistons I know it'll be a matter of hours before you respond with that exact question. I'd be curious if you have a back to back comparison (cost difference and performance difference [piston weight/ power gains/ etc.) between your idea of the perfect piston dome and one with the same comp. ratio utilizing the less than perfect top.

                      Looks like that'll be a bunch of fun to drive.

                        you would say that given your affiliations...lol. BMW changed the piston style when they changed the combustion chamber that in itself is enough reason to functionally match them as intended. just observation of various builds over the past 8 years shows it is superior let alone educating ones self through talking with experts

                        anyway there are better threads to discuss this rather than pissing in this one any further

                          I agree, in terms of squish and burn it's definitely the ideal way to go. But you're talking about a piston that could potentially weigh much more than needed; negating the power advantage. The scale slides depending on whatever the end user wants (piston weight/cost/purpose/etc). Since you understand my affiliations you'll also understand I've done pistons both with and without the offset squish dish (depending on the end user).

                          I'll PM you to keep it off here, I stand by my question if you have any useable comparison data.
